Overcome by life

My hubby sometimes refers to situations or things as having become moot because they are OBE (“Overcome By Events”), the idea being that something happened that made whatever you were going to do useless, meaningless, not worth doing, etc.

The last few weeks, I’ve been overcome by just…life. Work has been insanely busy, it’s been back-to-school time for the kiddos, and my travel schedule still hasn’t calmed down. In short: it’s been just overwhelming the last few weeks, and I haven’t posted because of that.

On any given night, I get home, get dinner ready (or head straight for the table, because dh is the one prepping dinner that night), get the kids through whatever they’re doing post-dinner, do dishes, get one or both kiddos to bed, and then collapse on the couch in a heap that doesn’t want to talk to anyone or anything.

I’ll be posting more. Soon. I actually have a couple of things to share, like a book that I’m nearly done reading that’s coming out NEXT TUESDAY. And there’s a movie that I screened a bit ago that comes out NEXT MONTH that (spoiler alert) YOU SHOULD GO SEE. And then there’s all that other life-type stuff.

But I’m not the only one who gets OBL, and I figure that if it’s okay for others to have that happen then it’s okay for me to have it, too. So, more to come, and sorry for the radio silence lately.

Here, go bake some muffins or make a crock pot meatloaf while you wait for the next post. It’s totally good Fall food and you’ll love it. Or gear up for cold-weather walking in honor of the 26.2 miles I’ll be banging out on the pavement this weekend for The Jimmy Fund.

More to come. Next week. Pinkie-swear!
